Michael Mallalieu has been Head of Science at Bedford Preparatory School since 1999. As a colleague of Jeanette, he offered support to her husband Adam at the early stage of the research to investigate the levels of awareness of bone marrow donation. In doing this, Michael organised visits to four schools so that 16 to 18 year olds could be surveyed. The research in schools initiated by Michael was significant and essential to the completion of the reports to John Baron, Shadow Health Minister, and Rosie Winterton, Health Minister.

All this initial involvement meant that Michael was ideally suited to his role as a Trustee of the Jeanette Crizzle Trust.
