Philip Hollobone was elected as Member of Parliament for the Kettering Constituency in May 2005.

In 2006, after discussions with Adam Crizzle, Philip believed that the work Adam had started was important research which should be raised at ministerial level. To that end he organised two meetings in April 2006, the first with the Shadow Health Minister, John Baron, and the second with Rosie Winterton, Health Minister.

This resulted in the Government agreeing to launch an educational programme in 2007 for all UK secondary schools to cover bone marrow, blood and organ donation.
